So I downloaded Gimp, which many of you probably know is a freeware alternative to Photoshop.  I spent a good amount of time playing around with combining my traditional black and white artwork with digital colors, but had little success.  After growing increasingly frustrated I finally returned to working in Acrylics and tried a different approach with them in the past.  My latest artwork, Batman vs. Wolverine, reflects this new working process and I feel that it is a success.  Thanks for looking.

so it's been a long time again since i've posted anything new.  i'd like to thank all of the great artists out there who have been nice enough to offer their suggestions to me and i feel that i've definitely grown as an artist.  i spent a lot of time just drawing and studying anatomy hoping to add to my ability to effectively draw realistic figures.  so i've just finished an actual piece of artwork and posted for the first time in months, hopefully my hard work has paid off and people will like it.

new stuff

Finally starting to find the time to finish some more artwork.  For years I've been against digital artwork feeling that I don't want to produce art that looks the same as everyone elses art.  But with the emergence of many talented digital painters I've gradually come around and can now recognize the skill it takes to work in the digital medium.  I've just posted a traditional water soluble graphite X-men piece and plan to colorize it in photoshop.  I'm hoping that the combination of photoshop magic with a traditional art begining will help me to create something unique.

Still pretty new to this site and trying to get more work done to post.  So far I've had a lot of positive responses from everyone and it's greatly appreciated.  I just wish that I could get more people to see my work.  Ultimately I would love to work as a cover artist.  I'm also in the middle of working on my own comic which I plan to submit through Image.  With any luck at all I can get it published.  I plan to paint the covers in acrylics, and then do pen and ink work for the interiors.  Not sure about colors yet, digital coloring just isn't my thing, have a friend who is a graphic artist who may be able to help with that.  If anyone is interested I'd be happy to sell anything I have posted here, except for the Green Lantern piece which was done for a friend as a gift.  I'd also be happy to do comissions as well.  Since I'm an amateur, hopefully not for too much longer, I'd work at a very reasonable rate.  The only piece I wouldn't sell cheap would be the X-men painting, but only because it took several months, and is a large painting.
